I am Levi Van Ryder, a nerd trying to get his PhD in experimental nuclear physics. I work on using a unique type of heavy-ion collision called ultra-peripheral collisions to study novel particle productions and probe the high-energy limits of QCD.

I wanted to create a website to document my journey to becoming a physicist and also talk about random things.

I'm doing this here for several reasons

• I feel like in today's world, everyone uses social media as their blogs. Longevity wise, this is a bad idea as there is no guarantee of data preservation
• You are not subjected to algorithms here
• Because Web 1.0 was peak design (simplicity is king)
